(By Women Action Group

Not only does Holt have a 100% conservative voting
record on conservative issues like abortion, traditional marriage, gun rights,
etc. but he also has a 100% conservative record on lower taxes and less
government as exemplified by the following votes.
- Senator Jim Holt voted against the bill for $360
million tax increase that resulted in an increase of our sales tax to 6%.
Act 59 (SB42) Holt was one of two Republicans voting against this bill
and one of eleven senators altogether voting against it. (There were 35
senators and 8 of them were Republican

allows the State to take over all school facilities in Arkansas. The study on
the Facilities issue recommended $4.5 billion to repair schools
in Arkansas. The bill gave the State Board of Education the right to
prioritize and control ALL improvements, building, and major equipment
spending on school buildings IN THE STATE. At the time of this bill less
than 10 states in the nation had similar laws on facilities. Holt was one of
two Republicans voting against this bill and four senators altogether. Act 90

had about 30 school districts where students were riding the bus 3 1/2 hours a
day, and this would have extended these long bus rides to many, many more
school districts. Holt was one of two Republican senators voting against the
bill. Senator Gilbert Baker also co-sponsored failed SB758 to consolidate

Congressman John Boozman
(Also running for US Senator for Blanche
Lincoln's seat.
US Congressman John Boozman
voted for TARP bailout and on his website adamantly supports No Child
Left Behind (NCLB). The Omnibus bill (3rd bill mentioned above) was the bill
that implemented NCLB in Arkansas. The Omnibus bill combined a state mandated
curriculum in Arkansas along with consolidation. So in essence Senator Baker,
Senator Hendren, and Congressman John Boozman (knowingly or unknowingly) all
supported consolidation and federal government controlled curriculum because
national and international standards are now being implemented in our schools.
NCLB has been working toward this now for years. Jim Holt is the only
candidate in this race that actively opposed NCLB, government control, and
consolidation.
-
With a national debt of $10 trillion, Boozman
voted for the deficit-exploding $700 billion TARP Bailout, HR 1424, 2008.
171 Representatives voted against it.
-
With a national debt of $6 trillion, Boozman
voted for the Prescription Drug Plan, H.R. 4954, 2002 with a ten year cost of
$350 billion.
-
Boozman voted to increase the national budget
and debt ceiling year after year.
- Boozman voted for NAIS (Animal ID) by refusing to vote for an
amendment to not fund it --NAIS will require every animal on every farm in the
nation to be tagged and identified.
- Boozman supports No Child Left Behind (NCLB), a nat'l education
program that controls curriculum and testing, and increasing the Dept. of Ed.
budget exponentially.
-
With a national debt of $9 trillion, Boozman
voted for the lst stimulus bill in 2008, H.R. 5140
-
Boozman supported mandatory program to combat
global warming by voting to leave it in the bill.
- Boozman voted for several so-called Free Trade
Agreements (CAFTA was one of them) costing millions of American jobs.
- Boozman voted to fund National Endowment of the Arts (NEA), HR5386
No one
knows how the other five candidates for US Senate in 2010 have no voting record,
will vote or if they will yield to the pressure and forsake the conservative
principles on lower taxes and less government. Based on the past
performances, the odds are close to zero.
