NAACP National Association for the Advancement of Colored People http://www.naacp.org

“The primary focus of the NAACP continues to be the protection and enhancement of the civil rights of African Americans  and other minorities.”  NAACP has had a reputation for having or sponsoring some very radical anti-american members & activities like the Black Panthers and Marxists groups.

http://www.marxists.org/history/usa/workers/black-panthers/unknown-date/black-power.htm and http://www.knology.net/~bilrum/NAACP.htm. President Bush refused to address this group this year.

Julian Bond, chairman of the national NAACP, in a letter to members of Louisiana’s Legislative Black Caucus urged Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus to  vote against a state constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, May 10, 2004.

EDUCATION ISSUES

National Education Association

http://www.nea.org The NEA's gay goals include a federal statute prohibiting employment discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, income tax benefits for domestic partners, and hate crimes legislation. The NEA's non-education-related lobbying goals include funding for the National Endowment for the Arts, national health care, reparations to African Americans, statehood for the District of Columbia, taxpayer funding of federal elections. The NEA opposes all varieties of school choice, tuition tax credits, vouchers, parental option or "choice" in education programs, designating English as our official language, and any possible action
that might impinge on the secularists' notion of "separ! ation of church
and state." (Political Activism Takes Center Stage With The NEA
July 28, 2004
by Phyllis Schlafly)

NEA’s extreme position is exemplified through its actions concerning a human rights award given to Kevin Jennings, founder of  the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN).  This award was given to Kevin Jennings despite public protest about his past action in the “fistgate” incident  where he was keynote speaker at a Massachusetts state sponsored workshop for teachers and students.  The workshop was so outrageously graphic  that it  resulted in the dismissal of  3 Department of Education employees.  The reason for the dismissal involved graphic descriptions of how to perform and enjoy certain homosexual acts before students as young as 14. A tape was made of the event and publicly distributed.  Language and actions were so graphic they can’t be reported here.  On the GLSEN website, it states that its goals “extend to…holding diversity seminars for teachers and students and ensuring that only positive discussions about homosexuality are allowed into elementary school classrooms, including kindergarten.” GLSEN has been remarkably successful in popularizing the concept of gay-straight support clubs in schools, of which there are now more than 2000 nationwide. “Who Is Diane Lenning And Why Did She Almost Lose Her Job? Ratings are given like they were given on  Project Vote Smart ( a non partisan organization) website. “ Project Vote Smart collects performance evaluations from special interest groups who provide them, regardless of issue or bias.”   Some groups gave ratings for only certain years, and some by two year average.  If  an average was given for two years, that score was given for both years.    They weren’t just selectively chosen.

This study was done by Women’s Prayer and Action Group.  Pam Manard of Jonesboro did most of  the research.

Go to these links to check out the ratings by the individual groups.
